Dice Sandbox

Dice Sandbox is a 3D, physics-based dice simulation environment (a sandbox).

Features

Dice Sandbox has a few features which set it apart from other dice apps, including true 3D perspectives (none of that top-down or 2D stuff), and no random number generated (RNG) outcomes, and a beautiful dice, environment and tables.

Dice Sandbox uses Unity to provide a realistic and robust physics engine. Unlike common physical dice, we use pure precision dice (the same kind as casinos). We've created all our dice models from scratch with perfect precision and symmetry: there are no weight imbalances nor imperfections to impact your rolls. Additionally, accounting for mass, friction and drag enables highly realistic force simulations.

The dice look, feel and act real as a result. Dice gather entropy as they spin, tumble, collide off walls and other dice, to give you a realistic outcome. Naturally, no cheating is possible as the result is completely driven by the sandboxed physics environment.

Pricing

Dice Sandbox is free of cost to Android users! Rejoice!

The app implements a small banner and non-intrusive intersitial videos in lieu of asking users to pay. We believe this is a fair compromise for using Dice Sandbox.

Platforms

Dice Sandbox is available for Android, with a view to expand onto other platforms if there is interest. It is primarily designed with touchscreen phones and tablets in mind. Portrait and landscape modes are both supported.

Roadmap

Dice Sandbox was publicly released in December 2019. We hope to provide monthly updates to continue improvements and enhancements!
